One dead in Marrero triple shooting, JPSO says

MARRERO, LA (WVUE) - Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a shooting in Marrero that left one man dead and two injured.

Officers were called to the scene Sunday in the 6400 block of Rue Louis Phillipe around 3:00 p.m..

According to JPSO Public Information Officer Jason Rivarde, one of the victims, a 25-year-old black male from Baton Rouge, had succumbed to his injuries.

Rivarde said investigators believe that the deceased and the other victims were involved in a failed narcotics transaction at the time of the incident.

The other two victims are expected to survive their injuries, according to Rivarde.
