(WVUE) - We can expect hot and dry conditions to stick around for the rest of the week. Temperatures will run several degrees above normal and flirt with record highs in the low-to-mid 90s. It will feel like the triple digits during the afternoon thanks to the humidity. Morning lows will be in the mid 70s. The hottest temperatures will come at the end of the week and over the weekend.
A stray storm is possible today, but beyond that, we look dry for the rest of the work week. A cold front will approach the area over the weekend and may bring a few storms Sunday afternoon. However, temperatures will soar to the mid and upper 90s. A few spots may even hit 100 degrees north and west of the lake.
Lower humidity is possible next week as a "cold front" moves through the area but temperatures are likely to stay in the lower 90s.
