NOPD: 3 people robbed at gunpoint in two separate incidents on Elysian Fields Ave.

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating two separate armed robberies that happened less than an hour apart in the same block of Elysian Fields Avenue Sunday morning.

Police say the first robbery was reported just around 3:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of Elysian Fields Ave.

The victims told police that they were approached by three unknown black males. One of the men pulled out a silver semi-automatic handgun and demanded their purses. The victims complied and the men fled to the rear of the CVS.

The second robbery happened around 4:20 a.m. in the same block of Elysian Fields Ave.

Investigators say the victim was standing outside of his vehicle talking to two black males when one of the men pulled out a black handgun and demanded that he get on the ground. Both suspects took the victim’s property and fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

Police ask that if anyone has any information about the robberies to contact the Fifth District at (504) 658-6050 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
