With the 2018 World Cup on FOX 8 kicking off June 14 from Russia, we are previewing ten story lines that are worth keeping an eye on as the tournament goes on.
#10 - Gracious Hosts
The eyes of the world will be upon Russia and if their perception as a country is questionable, the perception of their radical fans is even worse. "Ultras" are soccer fans who usually have a political identity and use soccer gatherings merely as a chance to make statements in the form of violence.
The 2016 Euro Cup saw Russians clashing with English fans and Russian clubs are constantly dealing with sanctions due to the behavior of those in attendance.
