ST. CHARLES PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

A St. Charles Parish Patrol Division officer was arrested and fired Wednesday for alleged video voyeurism and obstruction of justice, according to Sheriff Greg Champagne.

Cpl. Ryan Weaver, 42, had been with the Sheriff's Office for four years. Champagne said the voyeurism count was a felony charge, and that only members of Weaver's extended family are involved.

"On May 23, our office received information about this incident which allegedly had occurred on May 17, 2018 and we began an investigation immediately," Champagne said in a press release. "Weaver was placed on suspension pending the outcome of the investigation. After our detectives obtained an arrest warrant from Judge Timothy Marcel this morning, Weaver was terminated."

Bond will be set after Weaver appears in front of the judge at his 72-hour hearing.
