JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

Law enforcement officials will be placed on every public high school in Jefferson Parish this Fall, according to a report by our partners NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune.

The school board approved spending just over $1 million for services from Gretna Police and the sheriff's office.

This will be the first time police have been stationed at Haynes Academy, Patrick Taylor Academy and Thomas Jefferson High School.

The move follows an increase in threats made in the weeks following the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
