NOPD investigating two French Quarter armed robberies

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans Police are investigating two armed robberies that happened in the French Quarter about an hour apart Saturday morning.

The first robbery happened just before 4 a.m. in the 500 block of Chartres Street.

Police say two women were approached from behind by an unknown black male armed with a gun. The suspect demanded the women’s property and they complied. The suspect fled the scene with two iPhones, a wallet and an unknown amount of cash.

The second robbery happened around 4:55 a.m. in the 1100 block of Bourbon Street.

Police say two men were approached from behind by an unknown black male armed with a gun. The suspect demanded their property and the victims complied. The suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
