NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Fairly typical summer weather is on tap this week with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s and a 40-50% chance for storms each day. There will be plenty of dry hours, but where storms do occur, heavy rain, gusty winds, and frequent lightning are possible.
An area of disturbed weather over the Western Caribbean will move into the Gulf of Mexico later this week. Right now the chances for development are low. However, by the weekend deeper tropical moisture may move into our area increasing the chance for rain as well as locally heavy tropical downpours.
