NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Air BNB just made it harder for New Orleans to enforce its short term rental regulations.
According to our partners NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune, the company removed the "pass-through registration system" from the website.
The system allowed Air BNB hosts to apply for a short term rental license from the city, then posted the license number on the rental listing.
The city's main method of enforcement was checking license numbers.
The change comes just two weeks after the city council voted to put a temporary ban on new short term rental licenses in most of the city.
