Scalise was shot by a gunman who fired at least 70 rounds from an assault rifle before capitol police officers shot and killed the gunman.

Five other people were hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

Scalise has gone through several surgeries in his recovery.

Wednesday he was on the field practicing in his LSU jersey.

He is set to start at second base tonight.
