SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) -

The Slidell Police Department is looking for a man they call the “Arts and Crafts Burglar.”

The robbery occurred on March 5 at the Berkley Apartments located on 2020 Eleventh St.

Slidell police responded when the manager realized a large hole was cut into the sheetrock of the main office, and newspaper glued to the surveillance camera.

Footage of the surveillance video reveals the suspect entering the laundry room of the apartment complex from the hole he cut into the sheetrock. He also attempted but failed to put a t-shirt over his head while managing to expose his face multiple times, then he proceeded to glue the newspaper over the camera.

The newspaper and glue prompted police to give him the nickname.

The suspect then goes into the main office of the complex, searching the desk but found nothing.

If you or anyone you know have information on the suspect, or can identify this man contact Detective Kyle Taylor at 985-646-6174 or ktaylor@slidellpd.com. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111. You may be eligible for a cash reward.
