Man and woman carjacked at Gentilly intersection

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a carjacking at a busy Gentilly intersection Friday afternoon.

Police say the incident happened around 6:40 p.m. at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Gentilly Boulevard.

The victims told police that they were stopped at a red light when two unknown black males armed with handguns approached the vehicle from the rear. One suspect stood on the driver’s side of the vehicle and the other stood on the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The men demanded the victims get out of the vehicle and the victims complied.

The two suspects fled in the victim’s 2011 silver Chevy Aveo with the Louisiana license plate number H415246.
