NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The area of disturbed weather moving across the Gulf of Mexico will continue toward the Texas coast through Monday. Being just on the edge we saw increased rain coverage from the west tapering east. While high wind shear is preventing more organized development there is some effect off shore with small craft advisories in place and a gale warning west of the Mississippi 20-to-60 miles from shore.
High pressure returns for the week with storm coverage decreasing to closer to normal levels. We can expect 30-to-40 percent coverage through Friday. With fewer clouds and cooling storms high temperatures will bump up a degree or two into the lower 90s as we approach the Summer Solstice.
