(WVUE) - Football camps are usually laid-back, relaxing experiences for the kids, but not when Alvin Kamara is running the show.
"I'm loving it. It's a lot of work. I don't think they expected it to be as much work as it is until they get out here. Guys out here grinding, competing. Trying to make it fun for them. You got to keep it moving, keep it working," said Kamara.
A year ago, most of these kids had no idea who Kamara was. After grabbing rookie of the year honors, that's all changed.
"It's a blessing, first and foremost, because thankfully I handled my business on the field, now I'm somebody these kids look up to, and want to be like," said Kamara.
The Saints are one of the favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. With camp right around the corner, Kamara is ready to roll.
"We excited, we ready. Last year we were figuring out a lot of things. I think if you ask anybody as the season went on, and you saw it start coming together, everybody was excited about last season. This season, we ready, excited. We know what to expect from ourselves, we ready," said Kamara.
Saints rookies report to training camp on July 18th, then a week later the veterans report. The next day, they all hit the field for their very first workout.
