Third through eighth graders showed some modest improvement in English and Language Arts, but Math scores are stagnant.
State Superintendent John White said Math is a problem area that needs to be addressed.
"This is an overall story of progress however. We've taken steps forward," said White. "However, we still have bigger steps to take forward, and need to insist on greater progress."
Students did show significant improvement in Social Studies, but that remains the weakest subject statewide.
