Police: Mountain bike reported stolen from front of Algiers business

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are investigating the theft of a bicycle which was taken from the front an Algiers business. The theft reportedly occurred Monday around 5:29 p.m. from in front of the Family Dollar store in the 4300 block of Woodland Drive. 

According to police, the victim parked his bicycle in front of the store. When he came back, he noticed it was gone. 

Security cameras captured video of a black man riding away on the bicycle. The man is described as having a thin build, wearing a white shirt and dark-colored pants. He was carrying a black-colored backpack. 

The bike is described as a light-blue colored Schwinn mountain bike with black-colored handlebar grips. 

The photo provided is not of the actual vehicle but one that is similar in appearance.
