NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans native and former U.S. Attorney Kenneth Polite is headed to the Northeast.

The law firm Morgan Lewis made the announcement Wednesday that Polite would be joining the firm as a partner in its Philadelphia and New York offices.

President Obama appointed Polite as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana in 2013, and he tackled violent and white collar crime for four years.

Since then, he has worked for Entergy as a vice president and chief compliance officer.

Polite grew up in the Calliope housing development and went on to graduate from Harvard and then Georgetown law school.
