City council considering ways to combat sexual harassment in service industry

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans City Council will consider ways to combat sexual harassment in the service industry.

Mark Shettler of 'Shift change' will highlight new initiatives to fight this issue.

Shift Change is an organization working to make food and beverage spaces safer for everyone through education about sexual violence and prevention.

This comes after an investigation by our partners at NOLA.com | The Times Picayune where 25 current and former employees of the Besh restaurant group alleged sexual harassment flourished at the company.

The council will also consider approving Harrahs' community support grants.
