Audubon Zoo releases plans for jaguar exhibit redesign

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Audubon Zoo unveiled new plans to fix the jaguar enclosure two weeks after it escaped and killed nine other animals.

According to our partners NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune, the redesign includes a larger gauge of steel cables placed closer together.

Valerio likely escaped by biting a hole into a woven, stainless steel roof.

Zoo officials said the rebuild will take a few months to complete and vendors are being selected for the project.
