COVINGTON, LA (WVUE) - FOX 8 has confirmed FBI agents visited St. Tammany District Attorney Walter Reed's office Friday morning.
FBI spokesperson Mary Beth Romig confirmed agents went to the office but could not confirm the reasons for their visit.
FOX 8 news and Nola.com | The Times-Picayune reported Wednesday that the FBI had launched an investigation into Reed.
At least part of that investigation centers around findings from our Louisiana Purchased series.
The FBI has already issued a subpoena to the Castine Center in Mandeville looking for records related to Reed's fundraiser there.
Lee Zurik reports today the visit by FBI agents to Reed's office is the first visit related to this investigation.
