BOUTTE, LA (WVUE) - After serving a four game suspension for recruiting violations, this Friday night Nick Saltaformaggio will be back on the Hahnville sideline. The Tigers struggled without Coach Salt, but with so much noise surrounding the program, it’s understandable to be under .500.
“Just watching our football team go through what its' gone through, the 1-3 start. I know we’ve played three really good football teams. We felt like we had chances to win them. There’s been those disconnects that you have when you have when the start of the season that we had.,” said Hahnville Head Coach Nick Saltaformaggio.
Salt is back, but his quarterback Andrew Robison is still benched by the LHSAA. He’s suspended for the entire season for the same violations. The senior is exploring avenues to regain his eligibilty, and staying sharp working with the squad.
" He’s been fantastic. He’s been out at practice. He’s the best scout team quarterback in America. When he comes out to practice, he’s the consummate team player. He’s excited about football. He’s got a very bright future. I know Nicholls State wants him to go there. His better days are ahead of him for sure," said Saltaformaggio.
Coach Salt’s return to the sideline Friday night will be a tough one when they face Terrebonne. One of the top schools in 5A, and are currently undefeated.
“We got six left to play. You got to win six to get in, seven to get a home one the first week. Right now we have one. We have six left to play. We got an undefeated Terrebonne team this week, who’s got a lot of skilled kids. I know they’re going to be excited. I know they think this is a time where they can knock Hahnville out. We got to practice hard this week and be ready,” said Saltaformaggio.
