NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Saints are re-signing returner and wide receiver Brandon Tate. That’s according to a report by the Times-Picayune/Nola.com’s Josh Katzenstein.
Brandon Tate was with the Saints in training camp. He was cut in favor of Tommylee Lewis when the final 53 was selected. Lewis is on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Taysom Hill is currently the starter on kick returns, and Alvin Kamara and Ted Ginn, Jr. split time at punt returner.
Kamara combined for 31 touches this past Sunday in the running and passing game. Tate could be brought in to alleviate some of Kamara’s workload.
