NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -The owner of the historic Circle Food store in Treme said the store is on the brink of closing.

Circle Food Store opened in 1938. It was shuttered for years after Hurricane Katrina, and finally re-opened four years ago after an $8 million renovation.

The money came from bank loans, tax credits, and city-provided grants.

The owner, Dwayne Boudreax Jr. said the business is struggling with debt and that he is fighting with his own family over embezzlement claims.

Boudreaux said he thinks it may be impossible to keep his business open.
