NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -
Tulane took their 3-5 record to South Florida and ran up, down and around the one-loss Bulls to the tune of a 41-15 upset.
Quarterback Justin McMillan, making just his second start, began the scoring for the Green Wave with a 33-yard touchdown run. And while he didn’t have a huge day in the air, completing just four of 10 pass attempts, he made the throws that counted, including a strike to Darnell Mooney inside that South Florida five yard line.
That would set up a second quarter touchdown from Corey Dauphine to make it 17-3. The speedster would add another score before halftime from 21 yards out to give the Green Wave a 27-3 advantage at halftime.
Darius Bradwell, the other half of their big day rushing, would add to their overwhelming lead with a 73-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. He and Dauphine combined for 250 yards rushing and three touchdowns on the day.
The win improves Tulane to 4-5 on the season, and gets them back on track to make a bowl game. They’ll still need to win two of their final three games, starting with East Carolina next weekend in Yulman Stadium
