NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Saints absolutely crushed the Eagles in week 11 of the regular season, 48-7. Philadelphia offensive lineman Jason Peters claimed the Saints ran up the score on the Eagles.
“We didn’t play well at all. They ran up the score. We wanted them again, we got them again. This time, hey, we coming. It’s definitely not going to be the same outcome," said Peters.
Well, Coach Sean Payton isn’t buying that theory at all. Today, a reporter from Philly asked the Saints coach about those claims.
Reporter: Coach in the last game, you didn't let off the gas pedal.
“No, no, that’s not true. If you pay attention to the film, and watch the film. It was one of those games where, you’re playing a real good offense, and late in the game we scored a touchdown. We were (up) thirty something at that point. But we played well, so go ahead,” said Payton.
Reporter: Back in Philly, throughout the week, they’ve been using that as motivation. Do you realize they’re going to do that.
“It’s a divisional playoff game. So my question would be, we’re all playing hard in these divisional playoff games right? You going to play harder? Alright, next good question,” said Payton.
There you have it, straight from the coaches mouth. No running up the score in week 11.
