NOPD searching for woman accused in Leonidas stabbing

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Police are searching for a 20-year-old woman accused of stabbing another woman in the chest with a box cutter in the Leonidas neighborhood on New Years Day, according to an NOPD news release.

Katherine Welsh wanted on an aggravated battery charge in connection with the Jan. 1 stabbing, police said, which happened after the two women got into an argument in the 8200 block of Jeannette Street.

After stabbing the victim, Welsh fled the scene and the other woman was brought to the hospital for treatment, according to NOPD.
