NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A strong cold front will move into the state on Saturday morning. Ahead of the front a line of showers and storms will form. Some of the storms could be strong to severe. The line will move across Southeast Louisiana and Mississippi during the mid to late morning hours. By the afternoon it will turn breezy and cooler with temperatures falling into the 40s and 50s.
The gusty winds and cold weather will last into Sunday morning. Wind chills will be in the 20s and 30s all morning until midday. The actual air temperature will stay in the 40s throughout the afternoon but the winds should decrease some by late in the day.
A quick warm-up is expected for early next week before another round of rain and much colder temperatures by the middle of the week.
