NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A strong cold will move into the area on Wednesday. Rain and a few storms will develop ahead of it during the morning hours with rain continuing off and on into the afternoon as well. There could be a few strong storms and heavy downpours with the best chances at the coast.
Temperatures will start in the 60s but plunge into the 40s by late afternoon and evening. By Thursday morning a light freeze is expected away from the lake with upper 30s and lower 40s around the New Orleans area. Wind chills will be in the 20s and lower 30s early Thursday.
Seasonably cool weather is expected to last into the weekend with quite a bit of sun. Mornings will be on the chilly side. The next big front is expected by the early part of next week.
