BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - With Super Bowl 53 just days away, casinos in South Mississippi are getting ready for the influx of football fans and those who’ll be heading to the sportsbooks to place their bets.

Despite the disappointment of the Saints not going to big game, football fans are ready to watch the Patriots and the Rams battle it out on the field.

Casinos gearing up for another busy Super Bowl weekend… despite the disappointment from the WHO DAT nation.

A live radio show from WWL at the Beau Rivage Wednesday agreed with McAllister. Hosts interviewed the resort’s president Travis Lunn about the impact of having sports books open for the first time during the Super Bowl.

“What we’re seeing is it’s spurring additional visits and it’s bringing in different guests who maybe hasn’t traveled here before," said Lunn.

Lunn continued, saying the Beau Rivage is ready to host a large group of fans.

“Our theater that we’ll have about 2,500, we can accommodate there," he said. "Free, open to the public. We’ll have great concessions, great food.”

Down the street, Scott King with the Golden Nugget says its been a busy week for bookings.

“We’re getting a lot of calls this week," said King. “'Hey, what’s going on, what do you have for the Super Bowl?'”

One of the things the Golden Nugget is doing to prepare for the game is transforming its grand ballroom to make room for sports fans.

“We’re going to turn this into an NFL experience," said King.

In addition to its normal sports books, the Golden Nugget plans to have a paid VIP party with celebrities and large screens, as well as amenities for those who want to skip the crowds,

“We’ll also have a satellite sports book located in another ballroom for those who just want to place bets and don’t want to stand in the big lines," said King.

One avid Saints fan says a Patriots win will make up for the NFC Championship loss.

“The enemy of my enemy is my friend,” joked Gulfport resident Jeff Marion. "Tom Brady knocked off the Falcons and hopefully he’ll embarrass the Rams.”

The New England Patriots will take on the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, in Atlanta. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. You can watch the game on WLOX-CBS.
