Unrestrained Laplace man killed in I-10 crash

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -A LaPlace man died this morning after an accident on I-10 near Causeway Boulevard.

According to the Louisiana State Police, Noel Reese, 37, was not wearing his seat belt when his Dodge Challenger struck the left concrete barrier on I-10 West.

After the crash, Reese’s Challenger became disabled across the left and center lanes.

A 2001 GMC Yukon, driven by 39-year-old Roland Parquette Jr. of Garyville, LA, was traveling in the center lane of I-10 west and struck the Dodge on its left side, according to the report.

LSP said the passenger in the Dodge, 36-year-old Jacob Jones, and Parquette were transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

Impairment is unknown at this time and a toxicology test will be performed during the autopsy.

The crash remains under investigation.
