(WAFB) - Waitr, a Lake Charles based food delivery company, estimates its revenue grew by 200 percent last year.
“2018 was an incredible record year for the Company. Waitr grew Revenue over 200% and Gross Food Sales approximately 130%, and ended the year servicing 264 cities, 8,500 restaurants and close to one million active diners,” said Chris Meaux, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Waitr. “We look forward to another successful year as we integrate Bite Squad and continue our efforts to operate a leading platform in the online food delivery space for underserved markets throughout the United States.”
Preliminary, unedited financial results show that Bite Squad and Waitr would have produced $152 million in revenues. Bite Squad alone ended 2018 with $83 million, with $25 million of it coming from the fourth quarter.
The company also announced six management appointments in conjunction with Waitr’s recent acquisition with Bite Squad. This includes the appointment of Jeff Yurecko, Bite Squad’s Chief Financial Officer, who will be the Waitr’s next CFO. David Pringle, Waitr’s current CFO, is retiring and will remain in the company through March 31, 2019.
Waitr entered the Baton Rouge market two years ago, and has since dominated the food delivery market in that area, according to the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report.
