Deputies seeking to identify Raceland theft suspects
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help identifying suspects in a recent string of thefts in Raceland.
Sheriff Craig Webre said the thefts and attempted thefts happened on St. Anthony Street in Mathews early Sunday morning.
Deputies began investigating the theft of a boiling pot and a boiling pot set up from residences on St. Anthony Street.
Several other residents reported having items on their property moved to the roadside in an apparent attempt to steal from several properties, according to Webre.
Deputies saw an unknown man on surveillance walking on one of the properties and moving the items to the roadside.
As the man was talking on a cell phone, a light-colored, four-door Chevrolet pickup truck pulled up to the residence, according to the report.
Webre said the man and the truck driver then fled the area suddenly, leaving the items near the roadside.
Deputies are asking for the public’s help to solve this case.
