NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -Two civil rights groups in New Orleans have entered a legal fight to find out the locations of the city’s 400 surveillance cameras.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana and The Southern Poverty Law Center filed a lawsuit in state court this week.
The lawsuit said the New Orleans Homeland Security Department won’t provide a map of camera locations even though the cameras aren’t hidden.
The groups believe knowing the camera locations could be used to exonerate defendants.
