2 victims in Canal Street gun battle remain hospitalized
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -The Independent Police Monitor said investigators have not made any conclusion yet in Sunday’s fatal Canal Street shootout.
NOPD Chief Shuan Ferguson said the two injured bystanders remain the hospital, but their injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
The other three who were injured are already home.
Ferguson said investigators are starting to review all surveillance camera video.
The shootout started with a confrontation between undercover detectives and armed robbery suspect Reginald Romero Bursey.
He was shot and killed by an officer.
