BATON ROUGE (WVUE) - No Tremont Waters, no problem for the LSU Tigers. Javonte Smart filing in at point guard, racked up 29 points, to help beat 5th ranked Tennessee.

“Tremendous win for us through a lot of adversity. Javonte was phenomenal. I told somebody before the game, what’s it going to look like? It’s probably not going to be aesthetically pleasing, but he’s going to get the job done. That’s what he does. It won’t look as crisp, but he’s going to get the job done. He’s done that for us all season long. I’m very, very proud of him,” said LSU head coach Will Wade.

“I just had a lot of fun. Just helping the team win. I just wanted to get that win under our belt, and push forward,” said LSU guard Javonte Smart.

“Anytime we’ve played a big game he’s been spades for us. He’s been awesome. Today was no different,” said Wade.
