NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -A fight on a parade route led NOPD officers to the discovery of several Instagram threats.
The posts also resulted in the arrest of a 17-year-old, according to a report by our partners NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune.
The fight was on the St. Charles Avenue parade route Saturday night. The teen accused of posting the threats online has been booked with terrorizing, according to police.
The report says two groups of males fought around 8:20 p.m. Responding officers saw several males “fleeing the area into the pedestrian crowd,” according to the affidavit.
According to the affidavit, about an hour after the fight police saw “several disturbing social media postings” on the teen’s Instagram feed.
The post stated, “Im bout to hit ah N---- block broad day with this big ole lock,” which Payne-Samuel said referred to a Glock pistol with an extended magazine, according to the report.
The report said one of the posts also mentioned an individual by name, and the investigator said she believed the teen knew the person who fought him.
The teen was also booked on charges of illegal carrying of a weapon with controlled dangerous substance and two counts of possession of marijuana, court records show.
