JP council holding hearing on controversial cyanide plant
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -The Jefferson Parish Council will hold a hearing Wednesday on a controversial cyanide plant.
Two council-members will introduce a resolution that would rescind a 2018 vote that allowed Cornerstone Chemical Plant to move forward with expansion.
The council members say residents have expressed concern about the plans.
Cornerstone said they have handled the chemical for decades, but also want to continue to be good neighbors.
