2 Lafourche Parish men killed in car crash
Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left two men dead in Lafourche Parish

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Two men were killed on a Lafourche Parish highway near Willowbend on Hwy 3127.

Louisiana State Troopers identified the victims as Henry Coleman, 39, and Jacob Landry, 30.

The preliminary investigation revealed 21-year-old Tyler Gros of Thibodaux was traveling east on LA 3127 in a 2010 Nissan Maxima.

Coleman was traveling west on LA 3127 in a 2013 Dodge Charger. For reasons still under investigation,

Gros crossed the center line and struck Coleman’s vehicle head-on as they approached one another. Coleman and Landry, his front seat passenger, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased on scene by the St. John the Baptist Coroner’s Office.

Coleman’s two rear passengers, both 40-year-old males, were injured with one being transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans with serious injuries and one transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.

Both were transported by Acadian Ambulance Service. Gros suffered moderate injuries and was transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans by Acadian Ambulance Service.

Impairment is unknown as a factor in this crash. A standard toxicology report is pending on the part of Coleman through the Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office.

A blood sample was obtained from Gros and a toxicology report is pending through the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. Investigators are working to determine if Coleman and his occupants were restrained during the crash.

Gros was properly restrained during the crash and charges are possible pending the outcome of the investigation.
