NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -Two people were displaced Wednesday morning after a two-alarm fire at a home in Bayou St. John.

The New Orleans Fire Department responded to the scene at 12:37 a.m.

Firefighters found a man who had escaped safely through a second story window onto the roof of the home.

According to NOFD, firefighters used a ladder to rescue the man from the roof while others attacked the fire from inside.

A second alarm was called to protect surrounding homes.

Two people were displaced and assisted by the American Red Cross, according to NOFD.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
