NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Sunshine returned and Sunday turned into a beautiful finish to the weekend after dangerous storms pushed through mostly during the late night and overnight hours on Saturday into Sunday morning. Several reports of minor wind damage in our area with the weather service saying damage in Jackson County Mississippi is likely due to an EF1 tornado pending a final report. Big improvements though with temperatures in the upper 60s and dry air in place. Expect a quick rebound with highs back in the 70s for Monday and 80s by Wednesday as the next storm system approaches. We will once again be keeping a close eye on this next system as we get deeper into the Spring severe weather season. The Storm Prediction Center is already outlining parts of the area to see possible severe conditions once again late Wednesday into Thursday. We will keep a close eye as the development gets closer. In the meantime the first few days of spring break for many students looks fantastic.
