NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Terrebonne Parish sheriff’s detectives and narcotics agents arrested three suspects Thursday (April 18) on drug and other charges after finding them in possession of more than $9,000 in counterfeit money, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation began Sunday when a TPSO deputy was called to Bambi Court in Houma in response to a complaint about a woman, identified as Lacey Richard, who had allegedly taken a 2002 Toyota Avalon without permission from the registered owner. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate vehicle.
Then on Thursday, deputies received an anonymous tip that the Avalon was parked at the Lake Houmas Inn Hotel in Houma, and that Richard was in one of the hotel rooms. Detectives arrived to find the stolen vehicle in the parking lot. They also found Richard and another female, Jasmine Hendrix, and a male, Joshua Hyatt. Richard and Hendrix were taken into custody without incident.
While deputies were trying to secure the hotel room, they said Hyatt pushed his way past detectives and ran into a nearby marshy area. Hyatt was captured by a K-9 unit and taken into custody.
As the investigation continued, detectives obtained a search warrant for the hotel room and the stolen vehicle. They recovered a large quantity of marijuana, crystal meth, Suboxone, a digital scale, a large knife, a police baton, drug paraphernalia and $9,250.00 in counterfeit money.
The suspects were booked as followed:
Lacey Anne Richard, age 33, Raceland
Charges: Theft of a motor vehicle; possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, marijuana and Suboxone; possession of drug paraphernalia; monetary instrument abuse
Jasmine Rachelle Hendrix, age 28, Lockport

Joshua Ray Hyatt, age 28, homeless/Houma

Lacey Anne Richard was also arrested on warrants out of Lafourche Parish, where she was wanted for possession of methamphetamine and bringing contraband into a penal facility.
All three suspects remain in the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex awaiting a bond hearing.
The Sheriff’s Office said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests may follow.
