COLOMBO, Sri Lanka - (WVUE) - There has been another bombing in Sri Lanka. This comes after a series of bombings killed nearly 300 people on Easter Sunday.
The Associated Press reports a van parked near a Sri Lankan church that was bombed just exploded, but no one was hurt.
The government in Sri Lanka blames a local militant group for a series of Easter bombings at churches.
Officials say 24 suspects are in custody for questioning.
This comes as the death toll rose overnight leaving at least 290 dead and 500 wounded.
Investigators believe the near-simultaneous attacks were carried out by suicide bombers.
The last two bombings happened hours later at a hotel in front of a zoo.
Officials say the believe the domestic group “National Thowfeek Jamaath” is responsbile.
However, foreign links are suspected.
