NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - For the first time since 2012, the Saints didn’t make a pick in the first round of the NFL Draft. It’s also only the seventh time in franchise history they didn’t get a player in round one.

The Saints stayed put through the first night of the NFL Draft, resisting their track record of trading to get involved. Meanwhile, LSU linebacker Devin White is staying in the southeast as the Buccaneers made him the 5th overall draft pick.

New Orleans traded this year’s pick to Green Bay, and acquired Marcus Davenport in 2018 out of Texas-San Antonio.

The Saints will make their first pick of the NFL Draft at No. 62 in the second round. New Orleans owns six picks total in the 2019 draft.
