NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Taima Miller was set to graduate from Dillard University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice when her life was cut short in a fatal car crash overnight Friday (May 3), according to the university’s president, Walter Kimbrough.
Kimbrough posted a message on Twitter Sunday, asking for prayers for Miller and her family.
Few details were immediately available about the accident, including exactly where and when it happened.
The school’s Registrar office also posted condolences on Twitter.
The university said counseling services will be provided this week to any students, staff or faculty.
Dillard’s graduation ceremony will be held on the school’s campus Saturday, May 11 -- one week after Miller’s death. Award-winning actress Regina Hill is slated to give the commencement address.
