CENTRAL, LA (WAFB) - Emergency officials expect Greenwell Springs Road will remain closed north of Hooper Road for several days after collapsing due to high water Saturday, May 11.
Mayor David Barrow says a drainage pipe began sinking days ago and finally gave way Saturday after extensive flooding. Repairs cannot be made until next week at the earliest, but that depends on if the water drains from the area.
The Department of Transportation and Development urges drivers to avoid the area.
