NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Four people were shot in Central City Monday afternoon (May 13), according to New Orleans police.
NOPD spokesman Gary Scheets said the shooting was reported around 3 p.m. A male victim was found in the 2100 block of 4th Street with a gunshot wound to the ankle and a second was found shot in the chest in the 2000 block of Washington Avenue, Scheets said.
Two other people were brought Touro Hospital with gunshot wounds a short while later, but Scheets said their gender and the extent of their injuries were not yet clear. NOPD later said both of those victims were shot in the arm, a 16-year-old in the right arm and a man in the left.
The shooting marked the fourth in New Orleans in less than 24 hours, with a total of eight people injured from gunfire in that span.
