NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Jefferson Parish Councilmembers appointed Keith Conley to take the seat vacated after Chris Roberts resigned Conley was the only nominee for the interim post after two others dropped out.
He will serve in the parish-wide Division A seat until a successor is sworn into office next year.
Voters will choose the new council person this October. Conley will not run for the seat. He said he is looking forward to getting to work.
“Having worked with this council, I have an idea what your passions are within your districts, problems, concerns and look forward to assist if needed,” he said at Tuesday’s meeting.
Conley formerly served as Kenner’s city attorney and as a Kenner City Councilman. He was also the number two administrator for the Jefferson Parish government.
