NEW ORLEANS, La. (WVUE) - Three New Orleans police officers were involved in a shooting that left one person dead at a New Orleans East apartment complex.

New Orleans police are responded to a signal indicating an officer’s life is in danger in eastern New Orleans. The initial officers were on scene to investigate an aggravated assault.

The call came out Friday (May 17) around 10:30 a.m. in the 6800 blk. of Parc Brittany Blvd.

The NOPD said no officers have been injured in the incident.

However one person was killed during the shooting. There was a weapon next to the deceased person, according to NOPD Superintendent Shaun Ferguson.

Ferguson said officers are investigating to figure out who fired first. He confirmed that three officers fired their weapons.

Federal monitors and the independent police monitor are also on the scene.

There is no information on the person who was killed.
