NEW ORLEANS, La. (WVUE) - A 24-year-old man is accused in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries in Algiers, according to New Orleans police.
Corey Myles was booked into the Orleans Justice Center jail on 17 counts of simple burglary, 15 counts of simple criminal damage to property and two counts of theft of a firearm, court records show.
According to NOPD, the charges are connected to two separate vehicle break-in and burglary sprees -- the first on April 24 in the Tall Timbers and Algiers Point areas and the second on May 2 in the Elmwood Park neighborhood.
Myles was scheduled to appear in court Saturday (May 18), but was not transported from jail because of a power outage, according to court records. However, a public defender appeared on Myles’ behalf and Orleans Parish Magistrate Commissioner Robert Blackburn set his bond for a total of $55,000.
