Chief Meteorologist David Bernard: Potential for severe storms explained

NEW ORLEANS, La. (WVUE) - Chief Meteorologist David Bernard explains Wednesday night’s latest updates on the potential for severe weather headed our way, as well as more information about today’s flooding event.

The most widespread tropical impacts in our area are not expected until Friday on into the weekend, when the storm gets southwest of our region. It’s at that time we will experience an increase in heavy rain bands, gusty winds and the potential for storm surge. All of these impacts are highly dependent on the final track of the storm.
